(No)Heat Waves

Today's post is about something that's pretty much changed my world, cosmetically-speaking: No Heat Curls. That's right ladies, lugging around my curling iron is now a thing of the past. This easy and painless method produces beautiful curls or waves that last, for me, at least two days.
Day 2 of my no-heat waves, after a 90 minute yoga class

Thank you so much to the lovely Veronica who originally turned me on to this. You can find the video detailing how to do this at the bottom of this post. All you need is a stretchy headband and a few hours. You can thread thinner pieces of hair under the headband for a curlier look or do thicker chunks like I do for some easy, beachy Summer waves. You can leave them in overnight, but I can get a nice wave going on slightly damp hair in just about two hours. This is an ingenious little trick and anything that stops heat damage, I'm all for!

I've been really busy getting ready for our trip and my camera's been in the shop, but I'm hoping to do at least one more post before we leave. I hope you all have a great weekend!

  1. Andi, your hair looks fantastic! Can't believe that you did not need a curling iron. And I hear you on the heat damage- split ends are definitely not sexy! I'll check out the deets on how you got the waves. Thanks so much for the post!

Thanks Shan-these were like $5 Forever 21 specials I think, lol. I heart aviators as well.

  11. This is a cool method. I tried it a few weeks, ago but it didn't work that great for me. However, I did kind of rush through it. Thanks for this post because now I'm reminded to try it again, with more careful attention!

  15. So cute! How thick were your chunks of hair? 1 inch and a half? Or less?

  16. Sorry ladies, we were out of town this past week.
Christina-I used about 1.5 inch-thick chunks of hair for the loose waves but I have really thick, heavy hair and lots of it.
