Sephora Friends & Family: I need your recs please!

With Sephora's annual Friends & Family sale rumored to begin on Thursday, I'm getting my recon on. I would like to try out some new skincare products and I would love your advice!

I would like to try a new eye cream, I'm currently using Kiehl's Abyssine Eye Cream and Kinerase Restructure Firming Eye Cream. While I like them both, I don't consider either to be Holy Grail status. Do you have a favorite must-have eye cream? I'm mainly looking for it to help decrease fine lines and add moisture. I currently have Dior Capture in my shopping basket. Have you tried  it? If so, what did you think? What's your HG eye cream?

I also wouldn't mind trying a new moisturizer. I think Kiehl's Abyssine Cream (SPF 23) is just fine and I've also been happy with Lancome's Bienfait Multi-Vital, but again--I'm open to suggestions in this arena. I have normal to oily skin and  I would prefer it to have an SPF. Any good suggestions for me? I'm considering options from Laura Mercier and Peter Thomas Roth. Any input you have would be greatly appreciated. I try to stay away from Dr. Perricone products as they seem to irritate my skin, I'm open to anything else.

I'm pretty intrigued by BB creams and want to use this 20% off opportunity to try one. Sephora has BB creams from Dr. Jart+, Boscia  and Clinique available.  Have your used any of these? Do you like or use BB creams? If so, which brand is your favorite?

You know me and my fragrance obsession--I saw these therapeutic essential oils on Sephora's website and was fascinated. Have you heard about or tried any of these?

Just because I don't need any make-up doesn't mean I won't buy any! My husband just loves that about me. What are your must-haves from Sephora make-up-wise?

What products, if any, are you planning to purchase during Sephora's Friends & Family sale?

'tis the season for Friends & Family everywhere it seems! Shopbop's f&f sale ends tomorrow at midnight, use code : INTHEFAMILY20 for 20% off site-wide. Also Saks' online f&f sale begins today. Code: FRIEND9.
Hope you have a wonderful day!

  1. I got a sample of the dior hydra eye cream before and LOVED it... I haven't wanted to spend $50 a tiny eye cream (even though I know they last forever) so I'm finally going to get it this week again... I'd imagine the one you posted is good too...

  2. I love Kinerase's C8 Peptide Eye Cream- but I think Sephora isn't selling it anymore! I will probably stock up on Clinque's SP 25 City Block and Bare Minerals SPF 25 Mineral Veil. I love both for everyday.

  3. I've never used Dior's eye cream, but in the same line I use the Dior Capture Totale and I love the stuff. It's lightweight, but also makes my skin feel so moisturized and silky. Like with all creams I have NO clue if they combat wrinkles, etc., but it's never too early to begin with a wrinkle fighting cream I guess. LOL

  4. Thanks for the codes dear! I have been eyeing a couple rings on Shopbop, and had no idea they were having a F&F sale! hello?! Where have I been lately?

I wish I had some good recs for you, but I don't ;( I actually need some advice too. I'll read the comments you get and see what people say ;)

  5. I don't have any skincare recommendations at the moment - since my skin is too sensitive to use anything but Neutrogena LOL...however, here's my current Sephora make-up wishlist :
    -Bobbi Brown blush in Peony
-Bobbi Brown blush in Pink Sands and lipcolor in Sandwash (used by Kate Middleton on her wedding day - I'm a fan!)
-Boscia Green Tea blotting paper (a must when you have oily skin - keeps your make-up looking fresh and light)
-Bare Minerals matte powder (the regular formula breaks me out - but I'm hoping this version won't since it doesn't have bismuth in it)
    -Tarte emphasEYES inner rim brightener

  6. By the way - have you tried La Mer eyecream - I don't think Sephora sells it - but it does seem to get mentioned a lot in magazines.

  7. Thank you E and Jenny-it seems like Dior isn't a letdown so I may definitely go in that direction this time around--so good to know about the Capture Totale cream as well!! (adding to my list)

Jillian-I love most every Kinerase product I've tried and have been eyeing the C8 for awhile. So bummed Sephora stopped carrying it. But Ulta still has it and supposedly, their F&F is going to overlap with Sephora's!

Ella-great list! I've been wanting to try Peony for a long time too, thanks for reminding me about it! I like the eye rim brightener suggestion too, I love Tarte. I've noticed that more and more of my products are from them, it's great that they're so environmentally-conscious. I haven't tried the La Mer eye cream yet, you're right-it is really popular. I used the regular La Mer and wasn't impressed (especially for that price!) so I guess I never have paid too much attention to anything else in their line.

  8. Hey Andi,
In the middle of a move, so tired dry eyes (lack of sleep) have been an issue - my Renergie Lift Volumetry eye by Lancome has been a God send and am loving their Visionnaire. Somehow got talked into that one, but was worth every penny.
