Hi Ladies, I hope everyone is doing well! I thought it would be fun to do a giveaway for Valentine's Day. Since Valentine's Day is all about love, I'm giving away a couple of things I'm really loving now.
Valentine's Day Giveaway = green dangle earrings by Asos + Stella rollerball
I'm always up for a good shot of green, and I'm especially loving green in earring form. Eva, Hilary and Reese all rock the green earring to perfection.
As does Taylor Swift
*image: JustJared
and Jessica Lowndes
and Charlize Theron
and Angelina Jolie
I really can't think of a prettier way to add some color and fun to your look!
Valentine's Day wouldn't be the same without roses, so I'm throwing in a rollerball of Stella. It's a gorgeous, soft floral fragrance that reminds me of a beautiful, sheer rose bouquet.
One reader will win both items, and the giveaway is open to everyone - including the fabulous international ladies!
All you have to do to enter is:
1) Leave a comment under this post stating your favorite cause or charity to work with. I want to get some great ideas about spreading the love!
2) Be a public follower of this blog.
That's it. No re-posting, linking, or tweeting necessary. The giveaway will close at midnight EST on February 13 and I will announce the winner on February 14. We have to take an unexpected trip unfortunately, but I will be back to blogging as soon as I can. Good luck everyone and thank you for reading!

Andi,
ReplyDeleteI love the green earring look as well. Angelina nails it! Loved that outfit!
To me it was always important to give to real people, not to just donate money to a certain bank account. I wanted to make sure that people in need will benefit from this.
So during my backpack tour through India I got in touch with the founders of DEEPALAYA. This great organization helps people, especially kids, from poor families (read: lower castes) to get into school.
Whether you decide to take a sponsorship to help a certain child to learn how to read or to donate a certain amount to communities so widows can make a living by working from home, knitting scarves etc. They are going to be taught how to make a living for themselves, to be independent! I was hooked!
Back at home, it was just in time for my birthday, I told my friends and family and instead of birthday gifts I wanted to raise money for Deepalaya. So we got the sponsorshop for a beautiful little girl named Anjali for 3 years and she went to school and was able to help her family because she could read and really make an impact on her loved ones lives (it was nice to get pics and little letters from her, too). To this day Anjali sends emails and was able to get further education.
Education is key in a country like India and its strict caste system.
Well, I hope this wasn´t too long though - if you want more information, check out:
http://deepalaya.org/
Have fun on your trip,
Martie*
Great giveaway! I'm a follower of the blog and my absolute favorite charity to be involved with is Dress for Success. They help disadvantaged women get the tools they need (suiting and career skills) to succeed in the workplace. It's hands down the most rewarding volunteer experience I've ever been a part of.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet giveaway Andi! I love the green statement earrings "look"!
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of the Smile Train. My XH had severe cleft lip and palate as a baby and my family has sponsored Smile Train children for several years now. It's a simple surgery that allows children to have vastly increased quality of life ... it can make the difference between being able to eat normally or needing a feeding tube!!
Public follower for ages :)
I would have to say St. Jude. Children are so helpless and innocent and to see them with such horrible illnesses is devestating. St. Jude does a wonderful job in making sure the children are number one. I'm following :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous earrings! My sorority's philanthropy was the Make A Wish foundation, and they are still near and dear to my heart - I've remained active in fundraisers for them :)
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! My favorite charity is the humane society or pretty much anything helping animals. I'm a new public follower.
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for earrings exactly like this!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite charity is a mentoring organization called Byrne Urban Scholars. It pairs mentors with jr. high and high school students in an effort to improve graduation and college matriculation rates. The focus on college makes it more than a Big Brother/Big Sister program.
I think being a mentor is the greatest gift a person can give.
Those earrings are stunning!! I'm in love!
ReplyDeleteBoth the humane society and St. Jude's are ones that always come to my mind and could always use more donations for their great causes. Another one I've recently come across through my job is team hole in the wall who raise money to send children with serious illnesses to camp (specifically Paul Newman's camps). Yet another great cause to support.
Those earrings are great! My favorite charity would be The Lesch-Nyhan Syndrome Children's Foundation. Our friends lost their beautiful son at 18 mo to this disease, so this one has a special meaning to us. I love the charity idea for valentine's day.
ReplyDeleteThe earrings are beautiful, love that color right now too! And roller perfume is so practical and easy to carry in your purse! Love it!Thanks for the giveaway. My cause would be to make people aware of the "silent" cancers such as Ovarian cancer and bladder cancer. My Mom passed away from Ovarian Cancer in March 2007 and it happened so fast. I know that its dear to your heart as well!
ReplyDeletethose are tremendously great earrings... love the blog!

I'm a follower. I think the best thing is to give your time to an organization like Big Brothers Big Sisters.
ReplyDeleteHi:) I'm a big supporter of American heart association I w diagnosed with a rare heart condition 2 years ago and hopefully through their funding the research will be done to help find a cure :)
ReplyDeleteI would have to say St.Jude's Childrens Research Hospital. I love the earrings and Iam a follower as well.
ReplyDeleteI volunteer with Reading to Kids in Los Angeles!! It is so awesome. I'm a follower and I hope I win the earrings!
ReplyDeleteHave a Modern, Luxurious and Magical Day!

Andi, you are such a sweetheart! Definitely one of the nicest bloggers I "know" :)
ReplyDeleteI would do something with animals because I'm a huge animal lover. The ASPCA would be my top choice.
just discovered your blog and i love it! (and those green earrings!!)
ReplyDeletei contribute to the CF foundation and do the walks every year. two of my cousins both have CF so our whole family is very active in their fundraisers. our current goal is raising money for my cousin who is now awaiting her second lung transplant and is the strongest, most determined person i've ever met!
xoxo, jillian
Beautiful earrings!

Two cause which are close to my heart are Girl Scouting (because it teaches girls to be women of character) and the American Stoke Association (earlier this year my high school best friend had a massive stroke at age 29, she is now recovering, research is so important).
ReplyDeleteAnother two philanthropies I was active in in college were raising money for the deaf & hearing impaired and raising awareness for bone marrow donation.
Thanks for hosting a lovely giveaway.
There are a few I'm active with: March of Dimes since my daughter was a preemie. Autism Awareness becuase my half brother has autism. American Heart Association because I work on a heart floor in a hospital. All are excellent charities.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post, Andi, seriously. I think my favorite cause that we support wholeheartedly is Programs Employing People (PEP), a Philadelphia charity that helps individuals with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. PEP helps those who do not have the same opportunities as most other people but this won't stop them. They just want a level playing field for a better life, to be productive in their society and to excel and be proud. PEP helps the young and old alike, through vocational training, summer camps, literacy programs, job partnerships with local employers, education, community events, etc., etc. I can go on, sorry. I just love PEP so much.

ReplyDeleteSome charities I love...Heifer International, ASPCA, and Planned Parenthood, especially given the recent news about the Komen foundation pulling their support.
I really like local animal charities, particularly the House Rabbit Society. I'm a follower!
ReplyDeleteGreen is my favorite color! I would love to have these!! I am your newest follower :) I have not had a lot of opportunities to financially give back but I have volunteered with the Boys and Girls club. I love kids and I definitely want to make the world a better place for them :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome giveaway! Those earrings are just beautiful! I love helping out with organizations that provide for families during Christmas time. I did an event in Charlotte NC this year, but there is a huge organization called Our Neighbors Child in northern Virginia that does the same thing!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty earrings. I guess the closest thing to giving back is that I am an EMT and volunteer with our small town ambulance service.
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!!! Right now I'm working with The Arc of Palm Beach County, and while I can't donate $ I do donate my graphic design to them. I think it's important to let people know they don't have to have or give $ to help or make a difference, if you can spare some time, it can mean so much! I'm also working with two branches of the American Cancer Society down here! Love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway. I support the local humane society and I support Surfers Healing. A surf camp for kids with autism.
ReplyDeleteI personally support and volunteer at the Ronald Mcdonald House, kids there are simply amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love those earrings! The summer camp I attended for years hosts a free, weeklong overnight camp for children with disabilities called Dream Street. I was a counselor when I was younger and I know that camp changes those kids' lives! Other than that, I support any organization that helps animals or raises money for Parkinson's Disease research.
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten new jewelry in way too long...and I think green earrings would make my eyes just pop! I work in early intervention for babies and toddlers with developmental delays, so that is the cause nearest and dearest to me. in particular, the recent increase in autism diagnosis in young children is concerning...I'd love to see more research done to help understand autism and identify any underlying causes.
ReplyDeleteAmazing giveaway! Love love love the earrings.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite charity is the National Marfan Foundation. My dad, sister, and late brother all have this genetic connective tissue disorder, which also affects the heart. I donate money from each paycheck to this cause for education of the disorder, and any ways to lengthen their lifespace. Since February is American Heart Month, it is the perfect charity to support!!
I am also a follower of your blog!
This is such a great giveaway, thank you so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAs for charities, this may be a little unconventional but I think it is a great cause. I don't know if you read the bloggess or not but she started a wonderful movement called the traveling red dress and it is just an amazing initiative you can read about it here: http://thebloggess.com/2012/01/the-end-and-the-beginning/

Those earrings are gorgeous! The main charity that I donate financially to is St. Jude's. Nothing is more heartbreaking to me than a child that is sick. Locally I donate my time to Habitat for Humanity. We have a pretty large Habitat division here. It's great to get out and pound some nails for a good cause!
ReplyDeleteGah! These were the EXACT earrings I was looking for 2 weeks ago and could find nowhere. :( Wanted to set off a gray dress... oh well!
ReplyDeleteStill affiliated with Junior League in Palm Beach... great way to stay involved in a lot of various causes at once.
xoxo!! Mere
Those earrings are GORGEOUS! anyway, I love the SPCA and Habitat for humanity. I dont know if this really counts as a charity, but my church hosts a ton of different programs from supporting the homeless to putting on programs for college students to make them feel at home when theyre away from home so I love supporting those causes too.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite charity is ASPCA. I'm a HUGE animal lover and donate every chance I get!
ReplyDeleteI'm following your blog via my yahoo email btw! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway. I'm following!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that you asked about charities. I'm heavily involved with The Giving Spirit (helps the homeless of L.A.) and Love 146 (oh my, please check them out if you haven't yet ... seeks to end child prostitution).
greatwhitetee (at) gmail
My son was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 2 1/2, so the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is my charity of choice!
ReplyDeleteI do my volunteering thru the Junior League. Great group of like minded women
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the green earrings!! As far as charities go, I support anything related to Breast Cancer research (my mom is a survivor).
ReplyDeleteThose are beautiful earrings! I never thought to add a pop of color on the ears like that.
ReplyDeleteEvery spring I volunteer for an organization called Cinderella's Closet. Its a nonprofit that helps girls make their prom dreams come true. I sign up to be a fairy godmother and I get to help the girls shop. All the dresses, shoes, and jewelry are donated. We take the girls around and give them the princess treatment. Most of the girls don't have a great home life so for the half hour they can forget their problems.
I look forward to it every year!
I lOve those earrings!
ReplyDeleteI have to say St JUdes or Shriner's children's hospital too...what they do for kids is really amazing.
My niece had to go there when she was little (nothing life threatening fortunately) and they were awesome.
Those earrings are gorgeous! I love the color, and they kind of look a little art deco to me. A new perfume is always a treat too :)
ReplyDeleteMy charity of choice is ADRA (Adventist Development & Relief Agency), a global humanitarian organization. I'd like to go on one of their mission trips someday to help mainly women and children in a poverty sticken country. I actually thought of bringing my boys too, so they can appreciate what they have more, and their own lives.
I mentor a middle school girl through the Nativity Miguel Network. It's a group of middle schools that provide a tuition-free, extended day program to low income kids. I love it!
ReplyDeletelove the green earrings!
ReplyDeletei'm a follower and my favorite charity is "bring me hope" foundation. they run fun summer camps for chinese orphans. i went to china summer 2008 and volunteered with them.
As you may know, my favorite charity right now is the adopt a manatee club. We adopted Ariel for my mom at Christmastime, but now Jason and I have adopted our own. We are also active at our local animal shelter!
ReplyDeleteLove the blog, A!
Hi There,
ReplyDeleteSt. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital is a magical place that is saving the lives of children. WE LOVE THEM. Have a fabulous day!
Hi
ReplyDeleteI work for an orthotic shoe company. We donate to www.soles4souls.com its a great org to donate to people in need. I had experianced helping a specific person in dire need of shoes since the economy has taken a turn. She is diabetic amongst having cancer. It is especially important for people with diabetes to have the proper footwear,as they may have neuropathy (loss of feeling)so they wld not be aware if there was a puncture. So i in turn found a place to help her out. It was such a good feeling to do. So I reccomend it.:)
